Dr. Merens Cahannes, LL.M.

Merens represents parties in commercial matters before state courts and arbitration tribunals. He also advises in employment law, data protection law and corporate law. He has experience as a litigator with an international law firm in Zurich and as a law clerk at the District Court of Zurich. Merens completed a banking apprenticeship and wrote a dissertation on financial market law at the University of Zurich.

  • Assisting a trader in protecting his rights related to inventory discrepancies amounting to millions of USD.

  • Representing a Swiss company as the plaintiff in an action to void a transaction due to fraud or mistake.

  • Acting for a Swiss company in court regarding a post-M&A dispute.

  • Representing a group of minority shareholders of a Swiss company in a dispute against the majority shareholders and the board of directors, including a challenge to the AGM resolution and an action for information.

  • Supporting a global bank in defending itself against liability claims filed in the USA, applying Swiss law.

  • Supported a number of foreign financial companies with the collection of evidence in Switzerland through legal assistance.
