Anne-Catherine Hahn publishes on the topic: "Compliance – (Not) a Subject for Public Administration?"
In an article co-authored with Susanna Stähelin, Deputy Secretary General of the Department of Justice and Home Affairs of the Canton of Zurich, in the journal "Recht relevant" (6/2023), our partner Anne-Catherine Hahn discusses the question of how preventive compliance measures are dealt with in public administration. According to the authors, the view that ex-post control mechanisms need to be supplemented by preventative and risk-based compliance measures is becoming increasingly prevalent in public administration. The digitalisation of public administration is playing the role of a catalyst here. There is a lot at stake in this rapidly changing area in particular: not only the efficient handling of taxpayers' money, but also the public's trust in official decisions and processes and therefore ultimately the reputation of the state.
